Verrill Dana Attorney Appointed to Develop American Bar Association Workers Compensation Programming for Upcoming National Conference

(February 4, 2019) – Verrill Dana attorney Elizabeth Connellan Smith has accepted reappointment as the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Track Coordinator for the workers' compensation programming to be presented at the 2019 Labor and Employment Law Annual Meeting, representing the Defense/Employer. In this role, Smith will work with the Employee/Union and Employee Track Coordinators to develop programming for the workers' compensation panel presentation, as well as recruiting panelists and overseeing the preparation and presentation of the panel at the 2019 Labor and Employment Law Annual Seminar in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Smith was recently elected to the National Workers' Compensation Defense Network (NWCDN) Executive Board, and is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Workers' Compensation Standing Committee and an ABA College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers fellow. Smith has a wealth of experience in workers' compensation law and over the course of her nearly 25 years of practice, she has litigated numerous labor and employment law matters, primarily defending claims brought against Maine employers. Smith also blogs on workers' compensation issues on Verrill Dana's labor and employment blog, Taking Care of HR Business.
