Verrill Partner Mat Todaro selected to serve on the American Bar Association’s Section on Environment, Energy, and Resources 2022 Fall Conference Planning Committee
Earlier this year, Verrill Partner Mat Todaro was selected by American Bar Association leadership to serve on the 2022 Fall Conference Planning Committee for its Section on Environment, Energy, and Resources. In this role, Mat led the development of a high-profile national panel discussing the latest regulatory and litigation developments concerning PFAS. Mat worked closely with leading national practitioners to plan and carryout the panel presentation, including the Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the attorney charged with development and implementation of the Agency’s national PFAS strategy. The Conference was held last week in Nashville, Tennessee, and the PFAS panel was very well received. The key takeaway from the panel is that EPA will continue its push to regulate PFAS at the federal level across all environmental media with more significant standards coming soon including a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for drinking water to be announced in Q4 2022 and potential air emission regulations in 2023.
Additional information about the panel and Conference can be found here. If you have questions regarding PFAS and how your company can navigate the complex federal and state standards, please contact Mat Todaro.
