(August 10) – Verrill partner David Friedman has been selected to serve on the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission Family Law Committee.

The Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission seeks to improve access to justice for those unable to afford counsel in the state, and to provide a neutral forum across sectors to discuss issues affecting equal access to justice. The Commission’s Family Law Committee applies the Commission’s mission statement to all aspect of domestic relations law, including issues pertaining to access to the court’s during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Friedman has more than fifteen years of experience successfully leading clients through all aspects of family law matters. More specifically, his practice is focused on representing and counseling clients in divorce, modification, and enforcement (contempt) proceedings, including the division of assets, alimony and child support, and child custody and parental rights. His deep experience in family law extends to frequent lectures on various topics of domestic relations law and trial procedure. He is also the author of various published articles on divorce and financial planning. Friedman is the former co-chair of the Family Law Section of the Boston Bar Association, founding member of the Greater Boston Family Law Inn of Court, serves on the Leadership Committee for Lawyers Clearinghouse, and was appointed to serve on the 2020-2021 Massachusetts Child Support Guidelines Task Force.
