Obtained a jury verdict in federal court for a qui tam whistleblower against a medical device company that had retaliated against our client for filing a qui tam lawsuit under the False Claims Act, which resulted in the federal Medicare and California Medicaid programs recovering in excess of $25 million.

Represented several academic medical centers (AMCs) during investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice for alleged violations of the federal False Claims Act, resulting in the government declining to bring civil charges against the AMCs.
Mass Tort Litigation
Worked with a client in a variety of mass tort litigations where the parties sought materials relating to scientific studies and articles published in a journal, including the seminal case In Re Bextra and Celebrex Marketing Sales Practices and Product Liability Litigation, 249 F.R.D. 8 (D. Mass. 2008), which established standards for disclosing peer review documents.
Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute
Assisted a University in navigating regulatory issues, including Stark law and anti-kickback statute compliance, with respect to establishing outpatient clinics for its faculty practice plans.
Developed a model fraud and abuse compliance program for a client and implemented numerous compliance programs for hospitals, medical practices, home health agencies and durable medical equipment suppliers.
