On Monday, October 11, 2021, The Portland Press Herald released “Toxic Politics Taking Its Toll on Portland’s Public Servants,” an article discussing the polarization in Portland politics and the tension building in the weeks leading up to the election. Verrill attorney Jim Cohen, a former Mayor of Portland, Maine, recently was asked to comment on the situation at hand. Jim states “We all are responsible for creating an environment where negative campaigning works.
