Jen's role, as a tax attorney, is never boring. She is a problem solver whose attention to minute detail helps her develop innovative solutions for her clients. Her role changes on a daily basis depending on the needs of her clients, so she is always prepared to think through both sides of an issue.
Jen provides advice and counsel to individuals, corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, and other entities on domestic and international tax issues throughout the various stages of their business development. These services range from choice of entity and entity conversion decisions to tax planning for ongoing businesses, including acquisitions, mergers, and dispositions. She also advises clients on joint venture matters.
Jen has represented numerous clients in their federal and state tax examinations. She has represented clients before the Administrative Appeals Division of the IRS and state taxing authorities. Her representation of clients in federal and state tax controversies includes substantive and procedural issues, such as statute of limitations for assessments and refunds, interest abatements, penalty abatements, offers and compromises, installment payment plans, worker classification, employment taxes, unrelated business income, 501(c)(3) bond exemption, taxability for nonresident aliens, and research and development credits. Jen has also represented clients before the federal and state taxing authorities on matters that involve requests to make voluntary disclosures of individuals’ ownership in foreign accounts. She has also prepared and received IRS private letter rulings on behalf of her clients.
Although Jen greatly misses seeing her favorite five-time MVP quarterback, Peyton Manning, on the field, she still avidly watches professional football games. Jen is also a huge Boston Red Sox fan and can be seen wearing her favorite camouflage Red Sox hat outside the office.
