February 19, 2016 Press Releases

(2/19/2016) Verrill Dana is pleased to announce that attorney Kelly A. Donahue has joined the firm's Intellectual Property Group in the Portland office. Prior to joining the firm, Kelly was an associate at Locke Lord in Boston. Originally a Winterport native, Kelly has returned to her home state to continue to grow her trademark practice.

Kelly assists small and large businesses in establishing and protecting their brands in the U.S. and in other countries. She focuses her practice on trademark portfolio management, prosecution, clearance, and enforcement; copyright protection matters; and domain name disputes. Kelly has extensive experience in all stages of the branding process, such as, reviewing trademark availability searches, advising clients on the feasibility of adopting new trademarks, and preparing and filing new trademark applications. While in law school, Kelly worked in the legal department at Under Armour, providing her with a practical, in-house perspective on the trademark and intellectual property issues that are most important to brand owners and corporate counsel.

Kelly received her undergraduate degree from Bryant University in 2009 and she obtained her law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) in 2012.
