Gordy Smith is quoted extensively in a March 9 Maine Public piece entitled "No One Knows Who 'Owns' Rockweed in Maine." As the representative to a group of Washington County landowners claiming ownership of and the rights to harvest rockweed growing along their properties, Gordy argued before a Washington County Superior Court that these landowners should have the right to harvest rockweed that grows in the intertidal zones of their property.
