Verrill attorney David G. Lazarus was recently mentioned in the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article "Pair of Recent Victories Hearten Counsel for MassHealth Providers." The article covers two appellate court decisions regarding the boundaries to MassHealth’s attempts to collect overpayments as well as its power to suspend a provider’s right to bill for services pending the outcome of an investigation into alleged false claims. Lazarus, a former federal prosecutor commented that "These cases are basically saying that when the government does something and tells you that it’s the way it’s always been done, you have to look at everything that is going on and not be afraid to question the process.”
