Verizon Has Sights Set On Tower Location
Verrill Dana attorney Scott Anderson was recently quoted in an article featured in the Scarborough Leader entitled "Verizon Has Sights Set On Tower Location." The article discusses Verizon Wireless's selection of the Scarborough Sanitary District as the proposed site for a new telecommunications tower. In order to comply with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, Verizon Wireless must expand its coverage of 4th generation voice and data services in the area.
According to Anderson, the proposed site for the telecommunications tower was the only location available based on the search ring designated by Verizon Wireless, "New telecommunications facilities opportunities are nonexistent in or near the search ring. In other words, there are no existing buildings or structures in or near the search area upon which (Verizon) could colocate its equipment."
