Verrill Dana and Maine Law Host Prominent Beijing Attorney in Portland, Maine

(June 10, 2016) – Verrill Dana recently hosted the chairman of Beijing's SaintBuild intellectual property law firm at its Portland, Maine office on May 27. Qiulong Zhang, Professor and Supervisor of the Post-graduate Law School, Central Minzu University, was in the United States to visit the University of Maine School of Law, a provider of L.L.M. education for international attorneys. Joining Professor Zhang from China was Mr. Xing Huang and Ms. Bian Ying, an intellectual property legal advisor and a practicing lawyer with Beijing Tianli Law Firm, a member firm of Beijing Lawyers Association, respectively.

Dean of the University of Maine School of Law, Danielle Conway, taught one of Professor Zhang's classes at Central Minzu University prior to executing an International Collaboration Agreement between Minzu and Maine Law during her Beijing visit last fall. Working with David Robertson, Registered Patent Agent at Verrill Dana, and Roger Clement, Verrill Dana Attorney and Chair of the University of Maine School of Law Board of Visitors, Dean Conway presided over a meet and greet lunch at the firm to welcome the group. Also in attendance were University of Maine School of Law professors Christine Davik, Christopher Northrop and Christine Iaconeta, as well as attorneys from the firm's Intellectual Property and Corporate Groups.
