Verrill Dana Partner Contributes to American Bar Association’s Commercial Lending Law, Maine Chapter
(July 28, 2016) – Verrill Dana Partner, Mark Googins, recently co-authored the Maine chapter of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Commercial Lending Law, Second Edition: A Jurisdiction-by-Jurisdiction Guide to U.S. and Canadian Law. The guide was updated to include all 50 states in the U.S. and Canada, as well as to reflect new developments in statutory and case law as they pertain to commercial lending's growth since the recession in 2008.
"Since the economic recession, there has been an upward trend in commercial lending," explained Mark Googins, partner at Verrill Dana. "From information on the state's court system to details on real estate lending and additional laws of interest, this guide provides attorneys with access to valuable knowledge of commercial lending laws throughout the country and across the border in Canada."
With more than 33 years of experience, Mark Googins' practice focuses in the areas of commercial finance and commercial transactions. He counsels clients in mergers and acquisitions, in complex negotiations, and in a wide variety of lending transactions, including equipment leasing, leveraged buyouts and sale-leasebacks. He is also the co-author of the Maine Commercial Lending Handbook.
