Verrill Welcomes Michael R. Costa to the Firm’s Health Care & Life Sciences Group

BOSTON, Massachusetts – Verrill is pleased to welcome attorney Michael R. Costa, Esq., M.P.H., as Contract Counsel to the firm’s Health Care & Life Sciences Group.

Costa has substantial transactional and regulatory experience supporting private and public health care companies providing diagnostic and treatment services. In private practice, Costa has represented large hospital systems, academic medical centers, medical device manufacturers, and pharmaceutical companies.

Costa has over 26 years of experience in the health care industry guiding clients through capital formation, transactions, regulatory matters and approval of innovative treatment delivery systems. He has experience with hospital providers, nursing homes, home health agencies, specialty cancer providers, and physicians. Costa has also provided counsel to entities including physician service organizations and physician independent practice associations on matters including: advice regarding mergers and affiliations by and among health care providers; regulatory matters affecting health care providers and managed care entities; drafting and negotiation of contracts by and between third-party payors and health care providers and managed care entities; advice regarding operational issues affecting health care providers, including risk management, contracting, medical staff, quality assurance; strategic planning advice; and general corporate matters.

Costa earned his law degree from Suffolk University School of Law, a master’s degree in public health from Boston University School of Public Health, and his bachelor’s degree from the Roger Williams University. Costa is admitted to the practice of law in Massachusetts, Georgia, Texas, and California (in-house counsel).
