Biography

Pete's litigation practice focuses on environmental law, including Massachusetts' hazardous materials cleanup law, Chapter 21E; state and federal stormwater compliance; and wetlands and waterways permitting, enforcement, and adjudicatory appeals under the Wetlands Protection Act and Chapter 91. Pete also focuses his practice on real estate law, including easement and title disputes, with a particular focus on registered land, and land use permitting matters.

Before joining Verrill, Pete was an associate at Burns & Levinson, and the environmental firm Mackie Shea Durning, P.C., Pete was also at a commercial litigation firm, Arrowood LLP, gaining experience in complex civil litigation. Additionally, he clerked in the Land Court Department of the Massachusetts Trial Court for the Hon. Harry M. Grossman on matters involving real property and zoning issues. Pete also assisted staff in the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Waste Site Cleanup with drafting a grant application for brownfield assessment funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
