Verrill's Keefe Clemons Moderates Panel for the New England Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Associations Recent Conference
On October 1st, the Boston College School of Law hosted the “Current Issues Conference: Federal Law Changes as They Affect the New England States” conference from the New England Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association. Verrill’s Keefe Clemons moderated the Chevron and Loper Bright panel, featuring Professor Daniel Lyons and BC Law Adjunct Professor Thomas Barnico. During the session, the panel reviewed state laws, noting variations in how much states give to these agencies and clarified that the Loper Bright case didn't set a federal precedent and in turn states were not required to following said ruling. The panel urged attendees to focus on fact and policy issues in administrative cases, rather than purely legal issues, to reduce the impact of losing Chevron deference.
