Sarah K. Grossnickle

        A member of Verrill’s Trial Group, Sarah has extensive experience representing clients in all stages of dispute resolution, from pre-litigation claim analysis through trial and appeal.  Sarah practices before state and federal courts and administrative tribunals across the country.  She routinely tackles complex and novel issues of state, federal, and constitutional law.

        Sarah represents clients in connection with a broad range of commercial and tort issues, including contract disputes, shareholder and investor disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, environmental torts, class action defense, and procurement appeals.  Sarah has represented clients in the energy and telecommunications industries, financial institutions, institutional and individual investors, limited liability companies, and government contractors.

        A seasoned appellate practitioner, Sarah has represented clients before the First and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Maine Law Court, and numerous other state and federal appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court.  Sarah also represents clients in procurement appeals and other appeals from state and municipal agency actions.  Sarah is a former federal appellate law clerk, having clerked for Judge Carolyn Dineen King on the Fifth Circuit.

        Before joining Verrill, Sarah was associated with the Houston office of a top-ranked international law firm. There, Sarah represented financial institutions and global energy companies in complex commercial disputes, securities class actions, and government investigations.

        Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys exploring Casco Bay with her family.
