BOSTON, Massachusetts – Verrill’s Daniel J. Ossoff was recently honored by the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts (REBA) with the Jon Davis Excellence in Professionalism Award.

The award recognizes a person’s integrity, passion and dedication to the highest standards in the practice of law. The award’s recipients understand that the legal profession is a higher calling imbued with noble and aspirational goals of service—to clients, to the community and to the profession. Ossoff is the third recipient of the award, which was established by REBA in 2013.

Ossoff’s contributions to the legal profession include his decades of leadership at REBA, where he served as president in 2005 and co-chaired several key committees such as the Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) Committee, the Legislation Section, and the Amicus Committee.

Peter Wittenborg, the Executive Director of REBA, said the following at the award presentation: “Today, we honor a remarkable leader with the Davis Award. After joining [REBA] in 1983, he served on the Board almost continually since 2000. Both before and after his term as president in 2005, he co-chaired the Association’s UPL Committee and Legislation Section, and, since 2014, he has ably co-chaired the Amicus Committee. He is also a Fellow of the highly selective American College of Real Estate Lawyers. I’m not going to recite his many other recognitions and awards during a lifetime of practice, but I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this honor than Dan Ossoff.”

Ossoff is an experienced transactional lawyer handling all aspects of commercial real estate ownership, development and finance, with an emphasis on real estate acquisition and disposition, leasing, and title matters. Ossoff’s clients include national corporations, non-profit institutions, governmental entities, private developers and individual property owners.
