Shawn Doil
Partner
Shawn focuses on bankruptcy and creditor rights, with a particular emphasis on the representation of lenders, banks, mortgagees, lessors, and other secured creditors in Chapter 13, 12, 11, and 7 cases.
Shawn has extensive experience representing Chapter 7 trustees in liquidation cases, and has been lead trial counsel in scores of preference, fraudulent transfer, and other avoidance actions in Adversary Proceedings before Bankruptcy Courts in multiple jurisdictions, both as Plaintiff’s counsel and Defendant’s counsel.
Shawn also is experienced in helping her clients with their commercial collection needs and facilitating workouts, as appropriate. In addition, she regularly assists her clients in negotiating and purchasing assets and contracts out of bankruptcy and other distressed sales.
In addition, Shawn assists her clients through all phases of business litigation and complex commercial disputes. Her work spans a broad array of matters, such as breach of contract claims, lender liability issues, and claims involving business torts and fiduciary duties. Drawing on her deep knowledge of bankruptcy and creditor rights, she is particularly adept at handling litigation that intersects with financial distress, insolvency, and enforcement of secured interests.
Outside of work, Shawn enjoys spending time with her family, coaching her sons in soccer and baseball, being outdoors (ideally by or in the water) and spends her remaining time volunteering with organizations such as Moms Demand Action.
