As reported by the Portland Press Herald, a federal jury returned a verdict in favor of Sig Sauer in a lawsuit brought by Somerset County detective, who alleged that his service weapon discharged unintentionally while holstered.
Gaythwaite led the Verrill trial team representing Sig Sauer. Following nine days of testimony, the jury found that Sig Sauer was not negligent, provided adequate warnings, and did not sell a defective firearm.
