HHS Begins Accepting Applications for the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program
HHS has just published the official ERRP application and instructions, along with application Dos and Don’ts, Frequently Asked Questions, a slide show, and the address for submitting applications. We discussed the ERRP in previous posts, here and here. In short, the ERRP provides reimbursement to sponsors of participating employment-based early retiree medical plans for a portion of the cost of benefits for early retirees and their spouses, surviving spouses, and dependents.
HHS is now accepting ERRP applications, which will be reviewed on a first-come first-served basis. Given the expected popularity of the program interested employers should review and complete the application as soon as possible.
