Jim Cohen Appointed to Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority

On April 22, the Maine State Senate unanimously confirmed the nomination of Jim Cohen to the board of the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA). NNEPRA oversees the day-to-day operations of the Amtrak Downeaster and works to improve transportation, safety, and the economy of Maine. Prior to joining the NNEPRA board, Jim served for two terms on the Portland City Council where he served on the board of the Greater Portland Transit District, chaired the Council’s Transportation Committee, chaired the Maine Narrow Gauge Rail Alignment Task Force, and served as chair of the Master Planning Committee for the Portland International Jetport. The NNEPRA Board of Directors meetings are open to the public and are typically held on the fourth Monday of each month. Congratulations Jim!
