        Verrill Attorneys Present on Issues in Maine Energy and Electric Utility Regulation

        The energy and environmental landscape is constantly evolving. On Thursday, April 22, 2021, Halfmoon Education Inc. presents a full-day, virtual program, “Issues in Maine Energy and Electric Utility Regulation,” which will highlight the current state of the industry and regulations in the state of Maine.

        During the program, Verrill attorney William Harwood will present, “Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Rules of Practice and Procedure and Guidance Documents.” During the session he will provide insights into PUC hearing procedures, review of PUC guidance documents, and PUC procedures, including mediation. He will also highlight formal complaints.

        Later in the program, fellow Verrill attorney Scott Anderson will present, “National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Construction Stormwater Permitting and Online Permitting Process.” During the session, Scott will provide an overview of the NPDES program and discuss not only construction stormwater permit requirements, but also compliance and enforcement. He will also discuss how to request authorization online.

        Attendees are eligible for continuing education credits – 6.0 PDHs to professional engineers licensed in Maine and 7.0 CLE hours in New York, Maine CLE credit pending.
