Online chance promotions have come a long way from simple “click to enter” sweepstakes.  With the recent proliferation of legalized online gambling, companies are fashioning online sweepstakes and instant win games to try to capitalize on consumers’ interest in fast-paced, high-reward endeavors by structuring chance promotions that provide the thrill of gaming while avoiding the pitfalls of gambling and lottery laws.

This program will examine a number of popular promotions, including online sweepstakes casinos, subscription-based sweepstakes, instant win games and recurrent chance drawings, and provide the explanations and legal analysis underlying their viability.

This program will benefit experienced promotion law attorneys who are generally familiar with lottery and gambling laws but who seek to hone their skills and dig deeper into the legal considerations involved when structuring and advising clients on complex online sweepstakes and instant win games.

        Learning Objectives:

        1. Identify the legal issues involved in specific complex online sweepstakes and instant win games
