Four Verrill Attorneys named to Boston Magazine’s Top Lawyers of 2023 List

BOSTON, Mass. – Verrill attorneys Kristin S. Doeberl, Michael L. Fay, Regina M. Hurley, and Kyle T. MacDonald were recently featured on Boston Magazine’s Top Lawyers of 2023 list.

Boston Magazine invited local lawyers to nominate up to three of their peers in specific areas. Once voting had concluded, an advisory board chose the winners not only by the number of votes they received, but also by their credentials.

Doeberl, Hurley, and MacDonald are members of Verrill’s Family Law Group and Fay is a member of Verrill’s Private Clients & Fiduciary Service Group.

Doeberl negotiates and drafts prenuptial, separation, and modification agreements, and represents clients in divorce, custody, removal, international child abduction, guardianship, modification, and contempt proceedings. Doeberl advises clients on issues impacting the LGBTQ community, and handles second-parent adoptions. She also serves as a court-certified conciliator.

Fay has more than 40 years of experience advising clients on all aspects of wealth management, including tax-efficient transfer of wealth, creation of family-controlled structures for long-term financial management and disposition of family assets, risk management, and implementation and oversight of family philanthropic endeavors. He provides trusted counsel to venture capitalists, investment bankers, founders of significant private firms, senior officers of publicly owned companies, real estate developers, key executives of pre-IPO and other emerging firms, and families with significant accumulated capital.

With 37 years of experience, Hurley’s practice focuses on complex family matters including custody, identifying, valuing, and dividing unique assets and sources of income; and disputes involving international jurisdiction, foreign divorces; and Hague Convention matters.

MacDonald handles all areas of family law litigation and negotiation, including complex divorce, post-divorce enforcement, modification, paternity, custody, and international and domestic removal cases, as well as abuse prevention orders and pre-and postnuptial agreements. MacDonald also mediates and conciliates all types of domestic relations matters, assisting couples and families in privately resolving their disputes, as well as is privately retained to serve as a private parent coordinator and court-certified conciliator.
