Verrill Partners Jay McCormack and Michael Fee co-authored an article for the American Health Law Association’s Fraud and Abuse Practice Group titled, “In the Enforcement Crosshairs: Skin Substitutes.”
The article examines the rapid rise in Medicare spending on skin substitutes, significant CMS reimbursement and coverage developments, and growing enforcement activity by the Department of Justice, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, and other regulators. The authors also discuss recent enforcement actions and outline compliance considerations for providers navigating increased scrutiny in the wound care industry.
