Verrill Partner Recognized as a Leading U.S. Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyer

(February 2, 2022) – Verrill partner Roger A. Clement, Jr. has been recognized in the 2022 Lawdragon 500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers for excellence in his practice.

Lawdragon first introduced this guide in 2020 during a time when COVID-19 had left many businesses looking for restructuring, financing, and bankruptcy options as a way to survive the pandemic. Honorees were selected from across the country through submissions, journalistic research, and editorial vetting from a board of attorney peers and clients. This year’s list is 35% female and 11% inclusive.

Clement focuses his practice on advising business enterprises and tax-exempt organizations involved in joint ventures, restructurings, bankruptcies, sale transactions, and litigation. He has extensive experience representing secured creditors, debtors, trustees, creditors’ committees, and landlords in Chapter 11 cases. He has also represented enterprises in the life sciences, technology, venture capital, health care, transportation (rail and road), timber, manufacturing, retail, banking, and insurance industries. He is an effective counselor to healthy organizations and fiduciaries (such as trustees and directors) by drawing on his experience in distress situations. Clement is a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy and has served as Chair of the District of Maine Bankruptcy Rules Committee. He has also been recognized for his bankruptcy and restructuring practice by Best Lawyers®, New England Super Lawyers©, and Chambers USA.
