Verrill Welcomes Trial and Litigation Attorneys Tyler Hereth and Michaela Rice

PORTLAND, Maine – Verrill is pleased to welcome two new associate attorneys, Tyler Hereth and Michaela Rice, to the firm’s Litigation & Trial Group, both resident in Verrill’s Portland office.

Hereth has more than a decade of extensive courtroom experience in high-stakes criminal and civil litigation. His practice spans a wide range of legal areas, including personal injury, premises liability, commercial liability, and criminal defense. Before entering private practice, he served as a public defender and criminal defense attorney, honing his litigation skills in demanding courtroom environments. Before pursuing his legal career, Hereth proudly served in the United States Army. He received his law degree from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. Tyler is pursuing admission to the Maine bar.

Rice works with clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters. Before joining Verrill, Rice practiced civil litigation in Rhode Island, representing companies and individuals in a wide range of litigation matters, including contract disputes, wrongful death, premise liability, and product liability. Rice received her law degree from Suffolk University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire. During law school, she was a student attorney for the Human Rights and Indigenous Peoples Clinic. She was also a content editor for the Journal of High Technology Law and a member of the Women’s Law Association, If/When/How Student Organization, and the Student Peace and Reconciliation Coalition.
