        Elliott Williams Elliott Williams

Elliott is a dedicated, hands-on problem-solver who understands his clients’ needs and objectives and guides them to successful outcomes across a wide range of civil litigation matters.

As a member of Verrill’s Litigation & Trial Group, Elliott uses his research and writing skills to provide thoughtful, methodical, and pragmatic representation to a diverse client base—from large corporations to individuals—tailoring his approach to each case’s unique circumstances. He advocates for clients in state and federal courts, handling matters from pre-suit investigations through resolution.

Prior to joining Verrill, Elliott worked as a litigation associate at a highly regarded maritime litigation boutique in Westport. His practice included representing vessel owners, vessel charterers, non-vessel operating common carriers, and marine insurers among others in a broad range of maritime and commercial litigation matters before arbitration tribunals in state and federal courts across the United States.

During law school, Elliott served as Managing Editor of the Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and Social Justice, where he managed a diverse staff and oversaw the publication of three journal volumes and semi-monthly essays, as well as the production of the Journal’s annual symposium. He also participated in the New York State Office of the Attorney General Social Justice Division Field Clinic, assisting attorneys in the Attorney General’s Charities Bureau with a wide variety of nonprofit corporate governance enforcement matters.

Outside the office, Elliott enjoys spending time with his wife, their daughter, and their two Newfoundland dogs.
