Kate’s clients value her experience and her thoughtful approach to their personal planning goals and objectives.
An essential member of the Private Clients & Fiduciary Services Group, Kate focuses her practice on a broad range of trusts and estates matters. Kate creates sophisticated lifetime gifting structures and tax-efficient estate plans to transfer wealth to the next generation. In addition, she counsels clients on estate administration and settlement, charitable giving, business succession planning, and she serves as a professional trustee of family trusts.
Kate was recently accepted into the New England Fellows Institute of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). The New England Fellows Institute was created by ACTEC Fellows to ‘develop the profession’s future leaders in trust and estate law through a series of in-depth educational presentations led by outstanding subject matter experts in each field from across the U.S.’
Prior to joining Verrill, Kate worked as a trusts and estates associate for a general practice firm in the Boston suburbs. While in law school, she worked for a boutique Boston trusts and estates firm and the University of Massachusetts Foundation. Prior to law school, Kate worked as a litigation paralegal for a large, international law firm in Washington, D.C.
Kate resides in Hingham with her husband and three sons. During the summer, she spends much of her free time with her family on Cape Cod.
