Verrill Expands Statewide Presence, Welcomes Eight New Attorneys to New Bangor Office

BANGOR, Maine – Verrill is proud to announce the addition of eight new attorneys and the opening of a new office in Bangor, Maine. This development reinforces the firm’s position as a leading provider of legal services throughout the State of Maine.

Joining the firm are eight highly regarded attorneys formerly associated with Eaton Peabody:

        • Karen M. Holyoke and Nathaniel S. Putnam will be joining as Partners, along with Alexandra N. Stanley as an Associate, in the Private Clients and Fiduciary Services Group.
        • Casey M. Olesen and Sarah Reinhart will join the Real Estate Group as Partners.
        • Matthew S. Raynes will join as a Partner in the Labor & Employment Group and will also lead the launch of the new Immigration Group.
        • Michael A. Hodgins will be joining the Construction Group as Partner.
        • Edward F. Feibel will join the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group as Counsel.

These attorneys will be accompanied by an accomplished team of paralegals, trust and estate administrators, and legal assistants. In addition to these eight new attorneys, Verrill recently welcomed former Eaton Peabody attorneys David M. Austin, Shawn Doil, and Sam Hamilton, in addition to two professionals from the firm.

As part of this growth, Verrill has dramatically expanded its capabilities in the Bangor market, a vibrant and fast-growing area with increasing legal service needs. With this new office, the firm will be better equipped to serve local clients in the region while also supporting broader statewide initiatives and collaborations. Verrill is in the process of looking for permanent space in the city.

“We are thrilled to welcome these talented attorneys and professionals to our team and excited to expand our physical presence north into Bangor,” said Scott Anderson, Managing Partner of Verrill. “Having opened offices in Massachusetts and Connecticut many years ago, this allows us to expand our New England footprint further, remaining focused on our mission to provide value to our clients, combining deep local knowledge with the full-service capabilities of a larger firm.”

Over the last five years, Verrill has added more than 40 lawyers to its ranks, a 30% increase in its attorney headcount, and has expanded into several new practice areas, serving clients throughout New England and beyond.
