Verrill Welcomes William Ryann to Firm’s Intellectual Property Group

WESTPORT, Conn. – Verrill is pleased to welcome William Ryann to the firm’s Intellectual Property Group as Counsel.

Ryann guides clients through the development, management, and implementation of complex intellectual property strategies on a company-wide basis, helping clients successfully develop an effective patent portfolio.

Whether a Fortune 100 medical device company or a smaller materials company, Ryann takes the time to understand his clients’ objectives and drive the implementation of a company-wide IP strategy, along with the requisite brainstorming, idea generation, and management tools to support client objectives. He utilizes his strong physics background to serve a broad range of client needs. He also has a wealth of experience personally preparing patent applications for clients in the fields of semiconductor processing, materials, medical devices, oilfield, and other technology reliant industries.

Ryann earned his law degree, cum laude, from Tulane Law School, and his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. Prior to his career in law, Ryann was a Genetic Researcher at the UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and holds a degree in biomedical science. Ryann is admitted in both Texas and Connecticut, and works with clients across the country on their IP matters.
