Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist is responsible for performing accounting functions to support the growing Accounting Department and the Director of Finance. Duties of the Billing Specialist may include, but are not limited to, responding to internal and external requests for client billing information, drafting and generating invoices for clients, serving as a liaison between attorneys, legal assistants and the Accounting Department, researching and solving payment discrepancies, and performing other various accounting related tasks as needed.

The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, excellent attention to detail, strong mathematical skills, be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), the ability to maintain workflow with accuracy and efficiency, and the ability to successfully work with others in a diverse team setting. New Business Intake Specialist

The New Business Intake Specialist will work closely with the New Business Intake Manager, General Counsel, IT, and Accounting staff to process conflict checks in a timely manner. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: conducting conflicts of interest research; assisting in the identification and resolution of conflicts of interest; tracking engagement and close-out letters, waivers, and client-generated guidelines/terms of engagement; and escalating issues to the New Business Intake Manager as appropriate.

The successful candidate will take initiative within this role and have a positive, flexible, hardworking, can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to maintain workflow with accuracy and efficiency, and can prioritize tasks successfully. They will also have meticulous attention to details, strong interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy and the ability to work amicably with various diverse departments and offices, while accomplishing goals and meeting deadlines. A bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of legal experience is preferred. The Legal Project Manager will work closely with senior management and client service teams to establish best practices for the efficient management of client engagements throughout the full matter lifecycle and identify opportunities to provide enhanced efficiency and quality in service delivery through alternative uses of people, processes, and technology. This position leads the discussions of engagement management strategy, goals and related deliverables and manages matters through scoping; pricing; resource planning; delivery and monitoring; identifying, revising, and pricing scope changes; and reviewing and identifying opportunities for service quality or efficiency improvement – and introducing innovative working practices and tools. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer.==

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with law firms or corporate legal departments on legal project management. A Legal Project Management or Project Management Professional Certification is required. A strong academic record (JD or MBA, is a plus). Candidates should be familiar with one or more e-billing platforms and able to spot opportunities to improve effectiveness through process analysis and re-engineering. Experience with 3E, Iridium, iManage or CoreRelate is a plus. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, communicate effectively, and excel at working collaboratively to build strong working relationships. The successful applicant will understand law firm economics and financial management within a full-service law firm environment.
