Real Estate Paralegal

This position is a full-time position supporting the Real Estate Practice Group. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: organizing and coordinating all phases of commercial property acquisition, disposition and financing activities, preparation of entity formation documents (corporation, LLC, LP) and state filings, initial drafting documents including affidavits, easements, deeds and other real property related documents, conducting all phases of title and survey work, participating in commercial closings (including reviewing leases, tenant estoppels, executed contracts, due diligence and loan documents), communicating with clients, and responding promptly with the ability to successfully prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced paralegal with experience in a full service law firm and/or applicable educational background. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, research using Westlaw and document management systems required. Previous experience with corporate governance and/or probate estate administration is highly desirable. The ideal applicant will be a motivated self-starter capable of producing high quality work in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate should have the ability to act as liaison between internal and external attorneys, governmental authorities, paralegals, vendors, lenders, tenants and property owners in the closing and post-closing process of commercial real estate, as well as have strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Help Desk Technician
Verrill is actively reviewing resumes for a Help Desk Technician in our Portland, Maine Office.
As one of New England’s top full-service law firms, we are interested in adding the best individuals to our team. This would be a full time position in our Portland, Maine office, although we have been working remotely, we anticipate that this position will be in the office. The successful candidate will be the primary expert on the applications and systems he or she is assigned to support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Typical responsibilities include application operation and troubleshooting, technical research, configuring and troubleshooting hardware, and audio/video equipment support. This position includes training of attorneys and staff, either one on one or as an instructor in our internal technical training program when appropriate. Previous help desk experience is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical and organizational skills and the ability to learn independently. A college degree in computer science, information technology or related field is preferred. A commitment to providing superior customer service is essential. Candidates must enjoy problem solving and working with others to find effective solutions to computer related issues. The Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer will be responsible for planning, oversight, and implementing a wide variety of marketing and business development initiatives aimed at raising the profile of the firm and enabling Verrill attorneys to build client relationships and generate new business. The Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer will be responsible for the execution of supporting the business and strategic goals of the firm's practice groups through developing and implementing strategic marketing and branding initiatives, including digital marketing, internal communications, public relations and advertising. The Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer will work closely with senior leadership to manage marketing operations of the firm while leveraging firm wide resources, including aligning internal communications with external branding and messaging.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and results-oriented marketing professional with at least eight years of experience working in marketing and business development within a law firm or other professional services environment. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities and take initiative to lead projects. A Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in marketing preferred. A willingness to travel to our offices regularly is required.
