        Gratitude for Anya Endsley

        The Telling Room

The Telling Room’s Executive Director Kristina Powell recently expressed her gratitude for Anya Endsley and her time on The Telling Room board, most recently serving as the board President. During her time as President, Anya helped to steer the organization through the pandemic, the search for a new Executive Director, and the development of an intensive strategic plan that outlined future endeavors and goals. During her tenure, The Telling Room’s programs and events returned to their pre-pandemic levels, and held its’ final Show & Tell event at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine.

Incoming President Tanuja Desai Hidier said, “Anya has been a brilliant leader and kindred spirit these past years. Her keen eye for detail, attentive ear to The Telling Room community, kindness and empathy, smarts and steadfastness helped shepherd us through the stress and flux of the pandemic, as well as our Executive Director search (resulting in securing the treasure that is Kristina Powell), and the intensive heartfelt work that went into creating our new Strategic Plan. I have never seen Anya without a warm smile on her face, and words that are akin to an embrace—of the humans of The Telling Room, as well as its mission, aspirations, and values. We will miss her and are grateful for our time together here.”

Much like Anya’s approach with her clients and practice as a whole, Anya brought her steadfast commitment, passion, knowledge, and respect to her role as President of The Telling Room. Kristina’s statement is a testament to Anya’s dedication to The Telling Room staff, students, board, and the future success of the organization. Congratulations to Anya on her successful tenure as President of The Telling Room.
